Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Soy Glaze is a quick and easy way to cook salmon with just 5 ingredients! Delicious and cooks in under 10 minutes!

Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Soy Glaze
Air Fryer Salmon

I’m obsessed with this salmon recipe because it so quick and delicious! Cooking salmon in an air fryer results in the most tender, juicy fish, and it’s so quick and easy too! The maple soy glaze is delicious, made with just 4 ingredients; pure maple syrup, sriracha, soy sauce and garlic. The best part, this couldn’t be easier, let the fish marinate 15 minutes then air fry for 6 to 8 minutes. This is my favorite air fryer salmon recipe, but when I want something with a different flavor profile, I also love this Chili Lime Air Fryer Salmon and this Basil Parmesan Salmon. And if salmon isn’t your thing, check out all my other air fryer recipes.

Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Soy Glaze

Air Fryer Salmon Variations:

I never order salmon in a restaurant because I know it comes out so much better when I make it myself, especially if I make it in the air fryer. This air fryer salmon is marinated with Asian flavors, but you can keep it simple! Try:

  • Salmon seasoned with salt and black pepper and finished with fresh squeezed lemon over it to keep it simple.
  • Play around with different spices on you salmon like Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, etc.
  • Try honey in place of maple syrup in this recipe.

If you don’t have an air fryer but want to cook this salmon in the oven, try this baked version. Or this Sheet Pan Salmon, along with any of these healthy salmon recipes.

How to cook salmon in the air fryer

  1. If the salmon is frozen, thaw overnight in the fridge or place the sealed fish in a large bowl of cold water, until the fish thaws.
  2. Cut the salmon filet into four even pieces or buy pre-cut filets and marinade them with maple syrup, sriracha, garlic and soy sauce 15 to 20 minutes. You can keep the skin on or remove it if you wish.
  3. Then spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray or use air fryer parchment paper (with holes) to prevent sticking and place it in the air fryer.
  4. There is no need to preheat the air fryer. Depending on the thickness of the salmon the fish should take about 6-8 minutes. While it’s in the air fryer, take the marinade and reduce it into a glaze that you pour over the fish at the end. Top it with scallions or sesame seeds, if you wish – it’s delish!

What air fryer is the best?

There are so many great air fryers out there. After testing several for both of my air fryer cookbooks, I’m currently using and loving the Go Wise 7 quart air fryer (Amazon affiliate links). I like it because the basket is larger and it’s 1700 so it’s powerful!

What to serve with air fryer salmon

I like to serve salmon with brown rice or potatoes and salads or vegetables such as broccoli, bok choy or brussels sprouts.

Helpful Tips to Air Fry Salmon

  • Spray the basket with a propellant-free oil or use air fryer parchment to prevent the skin from sticking to the basket.
  • There’s no need to pre-heat to air fryer.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket so you get decent air flow.
  • There is no need to flip the salmon, it will cook on both sides fine.
  • To know if salmon is ready, the fish will change from translucent (red or raw) to opaque (pink) as it cooks. Check for doneness after 6 to 8 minutes of cooking, by peeking into the thickest part with a sharp knife or fork. It should flake, but still has a little translucency in the center when it’s done.

How To Store

Refrigerate leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze up to 3 months.

  1. This is a delicious recipe without a lot of hassle! I’ve already made it once, and I’m making it again tonight for dinner. It goes great with cauliflower rice. Thank you for all the great recipes!

    1. I forgot to rate it. Definitely a 5 star recipe! Can’t wait to try other salmon recipes (we had a great salmon fishing season)!

  2. This was so good and tasted exactly how I wanted it too. I sautéed string beans in the leftover marinade. Fantastic! Thank you!

  3. DELICIOUS! Thank you, Gina! I successfully substituted Tabasco Sweet and Spicy Sauce as I did not have any Sriracha sauce. I will buy Sriracha on my next grocery run! I am abandoning all other oven or microwave-cooked salmon recipes! After spooning the reduced marinade over the salmon, I sparingly “sprinkled” the cooked salmon with thinly sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds for the presentation. Served with vege-filled spinach salad. Very successful dinner thanks to you!

Excellent flavor- had a very small piece of salmon so I mixed 1 T each honey, low sodium soy sauce and pinch garlic powder and cooked about 7 min in air fryer. Very tasty. Thank you, Gina. I have made so many of your recipes to drop about 80 pounds and make goalless over a ten year period. I started when you were still working and been following you since and telling friends at WW about Skinnytaste. Your skinnytaste recipes are my staples

  5. Soooooo good and so quick and easy! And the fish cooked perfectly! Served with potatoes and baby broccoli. Definitely will make again!

  6. This was delicious! I use our air fryer for pork and chicken all the time, but this was my first try with fish. It turned out perfectly and couldn’t have been easier or faster! I was short on time so only marinated the salmon for 15 minutes but it was still very flavourful. Will absolutely be making this one again!

  7. This was so easy and delicious. I love how the fish came out crispy and the glaze tops it off nicely. My kids devoured this and they are not the biggest fans of fish!

  8. I’ve made this recipe about 5 times so far for my family. They love it and they always mention it to their friends. It’s simple, delicious and healthy! We love it ! You have to try it!

  9. keeper! so easy and delicious. did not need marinade as extra sauce, lightly patting the salmon before they went in left enough flavor intact.

  10. This is my go-to salmon recipe. It never disappoints! In fact, when someone buys their first air fryer and is looking for good recipes, I always send them this one. Easy, delicious, and can’t go wrong!

  11. Made on a flat top grill instead of the air fryer, and did not make the sauce (didn’t read the recipe all the way first and discarded the marinade- oops). Still delicious. Topped with everything bagel seasoning. Delicious. Will make again!

  12. Great recipe, we make it every couple of weeks, and even my son gulps it down with his Japanese rice with broccoli 🥦

  13. This is my new favorite Salmon recipe! Extremely tasty and easy to make — a win win in my book.

  14. I made this a few days ago and oh my goodness! Delicious, moist, and super fast and easy. I didn’t use the sirracha. I just bought more salmon just for this. Thank you!

  15. This recipe is YUM! Such a lovely taste for fish. I’ve made it with salmon. Tonight we had it with rainbow trout! Delicious! Thank you for this great recipe!

  16. delicious, my husband is a fussy eating he loved it, a little bit of heat Will be sharing this with family members 5 stars for sure

  17. Made this last night and it was soooo good. The whole family loved it. A little spicy for the kids but the spice level is mild. This will be definitely in my rotation.

  18. Delicious! I just got a Cuisinart oven style air fryer. I love it! This is one of the first recipes I tried and it was soooo good. Moist, flaky, and great flavors. I made it for guests and they loved it. I passed the recipe to my parents and they loved it, too. Has anyone else noticed that when you do fish in the air fryer, the house doesn’t smell like fish? It’s an added bonus for me!

  19. This is fantastic! It’s quick and easy to prepare. There’s enough sriracha to keep it from being too sweet, yet enough syrup to keep it from being too spicy. It’s perfect!

  20. It’s so delicious! My mom, my kids, everyone loved it!! I did have to remove the sriracha for them and still so good!

It was the first salmon I’ve cooked and could eat. Only change I will make is taking the skin off before cooking. Thanks the spicier the better.

  22. 2 questions:
Can I cook the salmon with the skin on (my husband LOVES the skin)?
Could I coat broccoli in the same marinade and air fry it too?

    1. This was insanely good, and incredibly easy. I upped the garlic since we adore garlic, but this was simply wonderful and perfect for a weeknight meal. Will definitely make this again.

  23. This was such a simple, quick Marinade that was SO tasty it was better than any restaurant salmon I’ve had! Drizzling heated up left over Marinade over top was perfect. Served with rice and Broccoli.

  24. Absolutely delicious and very easy to make. Great way of incorporating fish into your diet as this recipe is very flavoursome. I served it with a Vermicelli Asian salad and the flavours worked really well together. Thank you for sharing your recipes.

Oh my goodness! My husband just fixed this for dinner. This is hands down my favorite meal!!
The salmon is cooked perfectly in the air fryer and the glaze is AMAZING!!!

  26. We love this recipe. So easy and full of flavor. Tonight I tried the marinade with boneless skinless chicken and it was delicious. Marinated longer probably 20+ minutes, air fryer 400 17 mins. Fabulous

This glaze is so good! Everything I have made from SKinnytaste has been great and this was no exception! Will end up on our weekly rotation. Thank you!

  28. This was very tasty!! My husband says it should be on the weekly dinner rotation! I served it on a bed of riced cauliflower. My first attempt at salmon in the air fryer. Super excited that I had enough salmon to make a second batch, which is marinating in the freezer for next week!

  29. Wow I don’t often leave comments on recipes but this was AMAZING so I had to! So quick and easy to throw together for lunch or dinner, it made a delicious glaze for the salmon and baked perfectly in the air fryer. I can’t wait to make it again! I paired it with a side of broccoli, some avocado, and white rice for a delicious and filling lunch.

  30. Fantastic! But I would triple the sauce next time – it’s so good, and it was great on our rice as well.

  31. Made my air fryer Salmon using your recipe!
It was delicious! The glaze is wonderful. My husband and I both loved it. Marinated the Salmon for half a hour.
Pre heated the air fryer to 400 degrees. Lightly sprayed the basket. Cooked the salmon (skin side down) for 8 minutes and it was perfection!
I even put some of the glaze on our mashed potatoes.
    Soooo good!
    Thank you!

  32. I just made this recipe for the 20th time tonight. It’s a household favorite! Easy, flavorful, with minimal ingredients.  I highly recommend!

  33. AHHHHHmazing flavor, slightly crisp on the edges, and perfectly cooked inside. This combo of flavors is BOMB.COM!!!

    1. My son said top of my list favorite! I used the marinade to make a sauce for the rice.. simmered & added corn starch to thicken… it was delish!

  34. I love trying new recipes but this is one that I make once a month. It’s so good and so easy! Served with ST fiesta lime rice( yum, with Cholula sauce on top) and roasted broccoli.

  35. So easy, great flavor and turned out perfectly! I had never made salmon in my air fryer before and now I’m hooked.

  36. This is one of the best air fried salmon I’ve had. I substitute coconut amino since we do not use soy. It tasted really good. The salmon was done to perfection at 5 minutes in the air fryer. Will definitely make it again.

  37. Le temps de cuisson n’est pas assez long. Après 8 minutes, le milieu du saumon était encore cru.

  38. Amazing! Had it with black & wild rice and broccoli. Just enough sweetness with a touch of heat.

  39. I get a monthly subscription of fresh seafood from Alaska & as a result have a freezer load of a variety of salmon which are different in taste & texture. King, Coho, Sockeye, Keta (chum) …. would you recommend one over another for this recipe?

  40. Delicious flavored salmon with a perfect balance of salty and sweet. This was paired well with jasmine rice and air fryer broccoli!

  41. Fantastic sauce recipe.  I did add a squeeze of lemon and zest of about one-quarter lemon.  As my husband is not a huge fan of salmon I only prepared one fillet and he loved the flavors and said he would definitely eat again.  Next time I will triple the recipe for two fillets as the sauce is that tasty. Thanks for sharing a delicious recipe and it’s a definite keeper.

  42. I have never reviewed a recipe online before but I just had to say how incredible this is!!!!!! My fiancé and I made it together for a date night and it blew our minds. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!

  43. This was the best salmon marinade EVER! and reducing it on the stove afterward was genius- don’t skip that step. Thank you so much

  44. This is my favorite way to make salmon!!! So easy and delicious!!! I make it every week as written, with a 9 minute cook time.

  45. This recipe is amazing! I’ve recently recommitted to my weight loss journey and healthier eating and this recipe gave me hope that I can pull it off this time. Thanks for what you do!

Just keep following the Skinnytaste recipes and you won’t go wrong. I have followed Gina’s recipes for years and they have been invaluable on my weight loss journey.

  46. I’ve made many Skinnytaste recipes and generally love them all! This one didn’t work for us. It is harder to control doneness on fish in an air fryer than in an oven or a grill where you can keep peeking at it, so I overcooked it. If you make it, watch temp carefully – mine was underdone, then overdone very quickly. We didn’t care for the flavor of the marinade with the salmon, preferring gentler flavors (lemon, wine, etc.) Ah well. (Maybe a lower temperature would have worked better.)

  47. Seriously delicious! I can’t do garlic, but put in a bit of garlic infused oil instead. It’s a family favourite.

  48. Flavors didn’t work for me and my kids who usually gobble up salmon. We’ll go back to our regular seasonings and rubs.

Salmon wasn’t cooked! Need to blast it longer in the air fryer! Other than that, gangsta recipe dawg!

  50. Quickest, yummiest healthy meal! I don’t even like salmon really, but I eat it because I know it’s good for me. This recipe makes me actual enjoy eating it!!

This tasted as good as any salmon I’ve ever had at a restaurant and I even used sugar free maple syrup because it’s all I had. I served it over rice pilaf with broccoli and Cesar salad. Delicious meal and will definitely have it again soon.

  52. I love this recipe & it’s in the regular rotation at my house! Will say that 8 minutes (and really, even 7!) is too long in my air fryer. Six minutes gets it perfect 🤩

  53. I love love salmon but my husband doesn’t share that love so much, but when I made this recipe he fell in love and asked if I can make it every week. Awesome sauce and only a few ingredients. Perfect weeknight meal!! Going to try it with boneless skinless chicken thighs next 🙂 I could put that sauce on everything……maybe ribeyes after the thighs.

  54. I am obsessed with this recipe – VERY easy to make, and SO much flavor for such little effort.  This will definitely be a staple meal in our home!

I never used to be a fan of salmon. Since trying this recipe, I can’t say that anymore! Thank you!

  57. Made this recipe last night and it was amazing and so easy and quick to make. For some reason I always have trouble cooking my salmon and getting the right flavor but this recipe was so flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend is very picky (and critical) but he loved it. I will definitely be making this regularly, thank you 🙂

  58. Made this tonight for my first air fryer recipe and will be coming back for more!! It was DELICIOUS and the salmon was cooked PERFECTLY!!!

  59. Made this tonight (Nov 14/20).  Fantastic.  I used slightly less sriracha hot sauce (1 tsp) and it was warm enough.  I did 4 minutes on one side and 2 mins on the other
side in the air fryer  at 350F and it was perfect.

This was so easy and so delicious. My husband loved it per the recipe, I would probably cut the sriracha quantity in half cause it was a bit spicy for me but really, really tasty!

  61. Delicious and very easy.  Though for my family, the salmon is much better if cooked less.  I have been doing 5 minutes cooking time, 2 filets at a time.  Great recipe.

  62. This was an amazing recipe! My husband and I both agreed it was among the best salmon we have ever had. I served oven roasted green beans and sweet potato with it. Delicious dinner.

The recipe is delicious.  However, when it comes to making the marinade into a glaze  it never seems to thicken.  It remains a delicious marinade but not ever a thicker glaze.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  It says one or two minutes.  I try leaving it longer while
the salmon is air frying but no matter what I try I still get only a marinade.  I would appreciate any suggestion you might have although I cannot imagine it tasting any better!

    1. I would probably try making a slurry with cornstarch and cold water. Add it to the hot marinade and that will help thicken the sauce.  Just make sure you stir all of the clumps out and mix with COLD WATER first.  Don’t add corn starch to hot liquid.  🙂

  64. Fantastic recipe! So easy to make and super delicious! This recipe is worthy of guests for dinner. I’ll be making it often. I poured the leftover glaze over soba noodles which I served on the side; this is such a great use for the leftover marinade.

    1. This has become a favorite in my house, even my picky husband loves it. We eat it about 2-3x a month and never get tired of it. I double the marinade (except the sriracha) for more glaze since my husband likes to drizzle a little extra on his salmon, broccoli, and brown rice. Both he and my son have big appetites so I pair it with Trader Joes Chicken Gyoza for a complete meal. I’ve recently gone soy free so I am trying it tonight with coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. Hopefully they don’t notice.

  65. Hello! This recipe looks great – I can’t wait to try it! Does this work well as leftovers? And how long would say it is good in the fridge for? Thank you!

  66. This was so good, probably my favorite salmon that I’ve made so far.  I used to do brown sugar, soy sauce and oil with garlic, but this will replace that.  My filets were bigger than usual so I put them in the air fryer for 8 min, I like the ends crispy.  The siracha amount was just right, not too spicy.  Served with air fried broccoli and cooked rice.

This salmon recipe is wonderful!  It would be great for a dinner party.  Delicious and easy.

  68. I made this recipe tonight and it was delicious! So quick and easy, don’t skip making the reduction glaze so yummy. I don’t have an air fryer so I baked it in my toaster oven. I also used something called siracha ketchup which has less heat to it as my husband is not a hot spice fan.

  69. That’s so delicious! It’s made me starving, I have to try it tonight for my family. Thanks for sharing!!

  70. When I usually cook salmon in the oven, I leave the skin on and cook skin Side down. I am new to air frying, Is it recommended to leave the skin on for cooking in an air fryer?

  71. Delicious!  I Only used about half the amount of sriracha sine my husband doesn’t tolerate spicy. But this gave a perfect balance of sweet & salty with great flavor depth from the hot sauce.

Legitimately the BEST salmon I’ve ever had…restaurants included. Served with brown rice and Brussels Sprouts. Only 2 purple points. Perfection.

  73. This recipe is amazing! This has been my favorite thing to eat since my husband and me started Noom a few weeks ago. We paired it with garlic green beans and brown rice. I am so happy and full. I cannot believe this is enhanced positive lifestyle eating. It tasted better than anything I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

  74. Just finished this recipe…. outstanding!!! You never disappoint!! Keep posting…..we are on WW and using LOTS of your recipes….making my life easy, thanks!!

    1. Hi Kelly, here’s the link to her oven version. I’ve made this many times and it’s probably my favorite way to eat salmon. Unbelievably tasty.

  75. I love this recipe. I made it for my husband last night and much to my surprise, I enjoyed it too. I’m usually not a fan of salmon but the marinade took a lot of the “fishiness” away and added wonderful sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. The fish texture was light and flaky. Yum, I’m totally making this again. Thanks so much!

  76. Thanks for the great recipe Gina! I had some leftover salmon that I used for a salad. The maple soy glaze made a great dressing. I just thinned it with a little evoo and water. Two meals for one.

I have made this recipe multiple times. It is simple and delicious and the marinade is wonderful.

  78. Would it be ok to leave out the Sriracha sauce and if so, any recommendations if I need to replace with something else? Thanks! Lauren

      1. Holy freaking cow – that glaze is unbelievably awesome!! I have no idea who you are, but you deserve a crown for this excellent recipe…truly. Thank you for posting as clearly I was in desperate need of an amazing dinner during this quarantine ☺️

  79. My air fryer only goes up to 390 will that little bit of a temperature change affect the cooking time? Also what is the best way to reheat it?

  80. These look amazing!! It’s breakfast time as I write this and now I seriously want salmon for breakfast!!

  81. How do you reduce the soy sauce?  Just by boiling?  If so how much should I start with to get to the 3 tbsp?

    1. It’s reduced-sodium soy sauce, which is just soy sauce with less sodium, not soy sauce that has been reduced.

  85. This was amazing. My 11 year old refuses to eat fish but she had second helpings! Will make a ton of extra glaze next time to top everything else on the plate.

  86. Love this recipe. There’s only 2 of us so I only make 2 filets but leave the sauce amount the same and put it on our rice and veggies because its SO good !

  87. Do all air fryers have a preheat setting or is it just yours? Is the preheat step necessary? Thanks!

    1. I think preheating is important…just like preheating your oven. If you dont have the preheat seating just set the temperature you are going to be using and let it heat up for about 3 minutes before you add your food.

  88. I noticed you used fresh salmon, could you use frozen? If so, how would the cooking time be adjusted?

  89. Made this the other night – so delicious!! My husband loved as well. I’ll definitely be working this one into my regular rotation. 🙂

  90. how long can you leave it in the marinade? can I make it the night before and leave it in the marinade overnight?

  91. Oh 👏 My 👏 God 👏

This was FANTASTIC. I will make my salmon this way from now on. FOREVER. I do not have an air fryer (yet!) so I baked this in the oven. Turned out amazing. THANK YOU for all you do. Your recipes are ALWAYS a hit!

  92. We eat salmon regularly but this was the first time cooking it in the air fryer.  I used wild caught King Salmon.  This recipe was very good.  I felt that next time I would double the marinade so I had more glaze because it was delicious.  Otherwise, wouldn’t change a thing.

  93. Made this tonight!! Sooo good! I love the little bit of heat with the sweetness of the syrup! Really good!

I just want to take some time and thank you for everything that you are doing by providing healthy and easy to follow recipes. Your website has helped me with eating more healthy meals. I have learned some much about nutrient. I even brought my first air fryer which I love. Thanks again for all you do because I know its not easy.

  96. I have a general question about your air fryer. I see it’s describe as having an extra large capacity. I will primarily be preparing smaller portions (1-2 servings). Is there a smaller version of the air fryer? Or will it prepare smaller portions without much trouble?
